Built directly on top of Debian, Stratum repository adds functionality, tooling, configuration, security, automation, and operational capabilities while leaving the underlying Debian system intact. **Debian is the foundation. Stratum is the layer above it.** Stratum is not a Debian fork and not a separate distribution. It is a modular extension layer designed to enhance standard Debian installations and provide a consistent foundation for systems that require additional capabilities.
