Stratum

The extension layer for Debian.

A stratum is a distinct layer within a larger geological structure, defined by the properties that distinguish it from the layers around it.

Stratum follows the same principle.

Built directly on top of Debian, Stratum adds functionality, tooling, configuration, security, automation, and operational capabilities while leaving the underlying Debian system intact.

Debian is the foundation. Stratum is the layer above it.

Stratum is not a Debian fork and not a separate distribution. It is a modular extension layer designed to enhance standard Debian installations and provide a consistent foundation for systems that require additional capabilities.

The goal is simple: extend Debian without replacing it.
